Professional Violinist and Violin Teacher, Calvin Tsang, has been featured as a soloist on Charlotte's very own classical radio station, W-DAV, in the series, "Mainstreet Sessions" performing a virtuosic show-piece Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate (you can listen to this sample under "Repertoire"). He has also performed with various high-level US orchestras, including San Diego Symphony, Charlotte Symphony, Virginia Symphony and Des Moines Metro Opera. Starting lessons at the age of 8, he quickly became a rising star, being interviewed by Austin's local TV station only 2 years later. In his formative years, he garnered many honors/awards, including performing as concertmasters of his local school, region orchestras and most notably, concertmaster of Texas' All-State Orchestra only as a high school freshman. Born in Philippines, he hails also from Austin and Chicago, where he completed Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance (Northwestern University). Calvin also has had several years of experience teaching violin lessons to students of all ages and levels and is currently accepting new students in Vaughan / Richmond Hill / Markham / North York and Toronto area (Suzuki / RCM ). In his spare time, he is a weather buff and watch America's Got Talent.He dreams one day to be featured as a talent show panel judge :)

Calvin is a CFM/AFM (Canadian Federation of Musicians) union musician and has been Associate Concertmaster with Orchestra London and has performed with London Symphonia, Niagara Symphony, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Windsor Symphony, Canada Sinfonietta, etc.  He can be reached at CgTsang@gmail.com

September 21, 2018 - At Royal Fine Dining hall: Calvin performed to a crowd of ~450 people in a gala banquet featuring Czardas and a Chinese folk song.

September 15, 2018 - In London, Calvin performed in an orchestra concert featuring Berlioz's Symphony Fantastique and Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1.

August 19, 2018 - Calvin performed a 60-minute solo recital featuring popular classical and non-classical favorites as well as performances by two of his students.

August 18, 2018 - Calvin performed popular pieces including excerpt from a Chinese folk piece and O Mio Babbino Caro to an audience of ~200 as part of cultural outreach event organizedby CCM Toronto.

June 2, 2018 - In Glenn Gould Studio, Calvin joined Canadian Sinfonietta in a concert featuring violin concerto and Brahms Symphony No.4

May 12, 2018 - Hamilton Place (Great Hall): Calvin performed with Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra  in a concert featuring Symphonic Dances from Westside Story by Bernstein and Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes by Copland

April 15, 2018 - At Royal Fine Dining hall: Calvin performed to a crowd of ~ 500 people in a banquet featuring Edgar's Salut D'Amour and "My Tribute"
